Throughout her husband’s second term as president, Melania Trump has kept a relatively low profile. But the former First Lady has recently returned to the spotlight—sparking controversy yet again—after launching a new cryptocurrency and a luxury line of Christmas ornaments.
Last week, Melania unveiled her latest “Celebrating America” collection, featuring six limited-edition, handcrafted ornaments. Each piece bears patriotic designs and U.S. landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and the Empire State Building. Every ornament is engraved with Melania’s signature and comes with an option to purchase a matching “unique digital collectible.”
“I am excited to continue this annual holiday tradition,” she said in a statement. “This year, I found inspiration in our Nation’s upcoming 250th birthday and the blessings we enjoy as Americans.”
The ornaments are priced between $75 and $90 each, or $465 for the full set of six. However, reactions online have been far from festive. Critics on social media were quick to label the release as another money-making scheme.
“More grifting,” one user wrote on X.
“Griftiest, grifting couple ever,” another added.
“Money is their god,” said a third commenter.
While her supporters praise her creativity and patriotism, the backlash highlights how polarizing the former First Lady remains. Whether these ornaments become a collector’s item or just another controversy remains to be seen.
