100 Days After Nancy Guthrie Vanished, Neighbors Plead With Public to Stop Leaving Flowers Outside Her Home

One hundred days after Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in Tucson, the neighborhood where she lived for decades is asking the public to stop leaving flowers and memorial items outside her house.

In a message shared on May 11, Catalina Foothills Association president Will Pew explained that while the tributes came from kindness and concern, they have begun creating safety and maintenance problems for nearby residents. With rising temperatures, strong winds, and animals disturbing the items, the area has become difficult to manage.

Pew also shared that many neighbors are emotionally exhausted after months of visitors gathering in their normally quiet community. Some residents feel that certain behavior from outsiders has crossed personal boundaries and added more stress during an already painful time.

Instead of leaving flowers, the community is encouraging people to honor Nancy by donating to World Vision, a humanitarian organization she supported for many years.

Nancy, 84, has lived in the Catalina Foothills area for more than five decades, where she raised her family and built deep roots in the community. Friends and neighbors continue hoping for answers as investigators work the case.

Authorities believe Nancy was abducted from her home during the early hours of February 1. Surveillance footage reportedly captured a masked man outside her front door, though no arrests have been made. Investigators also discovered blood belonging to Nancy outside the residence, along with unidentified mixed DNA that remains under analysis.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently stated that investigators believe they are making progress, but few details have been released publicly.

Nancy’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, has continued speaking openly about the heartbreak her family is facing. In an emotional Mother’s Day message, she wrote that they miss Nancy every moment and will never stop searching for her.

A reward of $1 million is being offered for information leading to Nancy’s recovery or an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.
