If you were born between 1950 and 1989

We, the people born between 1950-1989, are the blessed ones. We are the awesome people, and our lives are a testament to that fact.

While playing and riding bicycles, we never bothered to wear helmets. After school, we played until dusk, but we never locked ourselves in a room to watch TV. We played only with our real friends, not with internet friends.

If we ever felt thirsty, we used to drink tap water without searching for bottled water. We never got sick even after sharing the same juice with four friends. We never gained weight even after eating plates full of sweets and rice every day.

Nothing happened to our feet even after walking barefoot. We never used health supplements to stay healthy. We created our own toys and played with them.

Our parents weren’t wealthy; they never chased money or material possessions. They only sought and gave love, not worldly goods. We didn’t express our emotions through emoticons on mobile phones because we didn’t have cellphones, DVDs, PlayStations, X-Boxes, video games, personal computers, or the internet. However, we had many good friends.

We used to visit our friends’ homes without calling ahead and enjoyed food with them. We never had to ask for permission to visit their homes. Loving people were close to us, so our hearts and souls were content. We never felt the need for insurance policies.

We may have been in black and white photos, but you can find vibrant, colorful memories in those pictures.

Lastly, we are a unique and understanding generation because we are the last generation who listened to our parents and the first generation who have to listen to our children. We are not special, but we are a limited edition.
