Customers rage over sign on door – restaurant’s response: Too bad for you, we won’t take it down!

The dedicated men and women serving in our police force work tirelessly to ensure the safety and orderliness of our society. Despite having one of the toughest and most crucial jobs in our country, many believe they are not fairly compensated. A KFC branch in Gallipolis, Ohio, sought to address and draw attention to this issue.

They put up a sign that reads, “All uniformed police officers eat free every day, all day.”

The restaurant aimed to express their gratitude toward the hardworking police officers in their community. It must have been a heartwarming sight for these officers to see such appreciation.

This initiative by the owner was both brilliant and considerate. When a picture of the sign surfaced on Facebook, it received over 10,000 likes! The KFC branch employees also commented on the photo, confirming that they indeed serve free meals to police officers throughout the year. This act sparked discussions both in the local community and online.

The branch owner made the decision to display a self-printed sign on the restaurant’s front door, and it didn’t go unnoticed.

However, not everyone is pleased with the sign. Some argue that it’s unfair to offer special treatment only to police officers and that the same should be extended to ambulance drivers, healthcare professionals, and others in emergency services.

In response to the negative comments, one police officer had a compelling comeback:

“This is a positive post, but some of you can’t see the bigger picture. As an officer, I do not enter any establishment expecting or wanting ANYTHING to be free, let alone a discount, whether I’m in uniform or not. And I can tell you other officers feel the same way. We don’t seek ‘special treatment.’ The fact is that KFC is recognizing law enforcement, which is why this was posted. To those who suggested that other first responders should also be acknowledged, my answer? ABSOLUTELY.”

Police officers commit their lives to safeguarding ordinary citizens and our society. Their service is a fundamental cornerstone of our country’s well-being, and we should be appreciative of their efforts.
