After his painful divorce, Kevin Costner has found love again at 67 – and you might recognize her
After enduring a painful separation from his longtime wife Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner may have found love again.
Reports suggest that the Yellowstone star has entered a relationship with singer Jewel. The two were recently photographed together on Richard Branson’s Necker Island at a tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation.
TMZ claims that the pair flew to the Caribbean together and spent over a week in each other’s company. This development comes shortly after the turmoil Costner faced during his post-separation court battle with Baumgartner.
Reports indicate that Costner was taken by surprise when his wife initiated divorce proceedings in May of this year. The situation quickly deteriorated from there.
In early May, Christine filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”. The couple had been married for 18 years.
A representative for Costner issued a statement: “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have led to Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask for privacy for him, Christine, and their children as they navigate this difficult time.”
Costner and Baumgartner tied the knot in 2004 and share three children: sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 12.
Following Baumgartner’s filing, a bitter dispute ensued between the former couple. This included Baumgartner being required to vacate the family home according to a prenuptial agreement, and Costner being ordered to pay $63,209 per month in child support.
Kevin Costner, known for his outstanding acting roles and directorial ventures, was born on January 18, 1955, in Lynwood, California. He grew up in a working-class household, where his father worked as an electrician while his mother was a homemaker. Costner was the third of three children in the family.
His childhood was shaped by a strong love for sports, particularly baseball. Besides being a passionate baseball player, Costner also showed an interest in acting but decided to focus on a career in sports. After graduating from high school, he attended California State University in Fullerton on a baseball scholarship. However, his professional baseball career didn’t pan out as expected, so he turned to acting.
After a few minor roles, Costner gained recognition with his role in the film “The Untouchables” (1987), which catapulted him into the realm of Hollywood fame. This was followed by roles in iconic films such as “Bull Durham” (1988) and “Field of Dreams” (1989), further solidifying his position as one of the leading actors in the industry.
Costner continued to build his career as an actor, producer, and director, creating some of the most memorable cinematic works in recent decades. His films such as “Dances with Wolves” (1990), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Director, “The Bodyguard” (1992), “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” (1991), and “JFK” (1991) have remained unforgettable classics.
Beyond the silver screen, Costner is known for his humanitarian work and advocacy for environmental protection. He is also a passionate baseball enthusiast and is the owner of the baseball team, the “Los Angeles Dodgers.”
Despite the ups and downs in his career, Kevin Costner remains one of the most recognizable and respected figures in the entertainment world. His dedication to the arts, sporting passion, and philanthropic endeavors make him a true icon of the modern era.
